Olivia Herbert - 2nd Runner-Up
1.If you could make one rule that everyone in the world had to follow, what would it be?
Although I’ve been fortunate to travel over half the states and a handful of countries, I am happiest living in my home state of Minnesota. From ice hockey in the winter to wake surfing in the summer, I live in a state with one of the highest rated healthcare networks in the nation. With a strong support system of doctors and family due to my illness, my future is brightest in Minnesota.
2.If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Once in Hawaii, we were swimming at the beach and my mother was in the ocean. A large wave was approaching, so she turned her back to it, but when it hit she was knocked underwater. Judging by the look of a little boy nearby covering his eyes, she knew that something had gone horribly wrong. It turned out she was no longer wearing her top.
3.When do you feel a child or teen becomes an adult?
My goal and desire as Miss Teen International 2018 is to continue my efforts to put a face on invisible illnesses. I look forward to expanding awareness of autoimmune diseases on an international level by creating knowledge, charitable events and support groups for invisible illnesses which affect one in five people (75% of which are women). It is my passion to reach out to as many people as possible in hopes of finding a cure.
4.What do you feel you have learned in life that will be the most useful?
To me beauty isn’t something that you can divine, it is purely unique. No beauty is the same as it is truly individual to each person. From a glowing personality to a meaningful design, beauty to me represents high spiritual qualities and the ability to be your authentic self.
